Joseph Mathews

Joseph Mathews received his Bachelors in Physical Therapy from India (1999), Masters in Physical Therapy from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas (2003) and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St Augustine, Florida (2010). He excelled both in academic and clinical realms receiving the award for "Best Outgoing Student" in his Bachelors program and "The Marge Barre Scholarship for Academic and Clinical Excellence" in his Masters program.

Joseph has worked in outpatient Orthopaedics for the past 7 years and has treated several professional, collegiate, and recreational athletes in Texas. He joined Advanced Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in 2006 in the capacity of Physical Therapy Director. Apart from being a clinician he is in charge of developing rehabilitation protocols, monitoring quality assurance programs of the clinic.

He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Texas Physical Therapy Association (TPTA). He is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Joseph believes in continuing his education through incessant continuing education course for credit programs and uses the knowledge gained in evidence based practice of Physical Therapy in the clinic. His philosophy of treatment is a thorough evaluation of contributing problems and treating the dysfunction rather than the symptoms presented. His area of expertise is Orthopedics, Manual therapy and sports rehabilitation and his doctoral education has placed him uniquely to be able to treat complex neck and back cases.
